Where is God?

A nice book which explains a perspective of what God is. I, this book God is basically in all things and acts through all acts of love. This view is expressed in a nice, clear text, fit for kids to understand. The illustrations play with kids silhouettes over colorful, backgrounds. It is quite a simple style, with lots of hearts, rainbows, and simple shapes. A book that can help you explain to your kids the concept of God as being Love.

Nikki Durant and the Terrible Can’t

I totally loved this book! I loved all about it. The story, the illustrations, super! The book tells the story of Nikki. She wants to get THERE. But to do this she much overcome many obstacles, from which the worst one is the terrible CAN’T. Will she do it? This book is so original, poetic, smart! It turns into characters the usual psychological obstacles a person/child has to deal with as they grow and try to reach new milestones. And these characters are so surreal, funny, scary, charismatic. This text is extremely creative and artistic. A rare, beautiful thing to find in a children’s book nowadays. The illustrations are just as great as the text. Their style is very unique, expressive, fun and also a little edgy. The colors are vibrant, the compositions interesting. The formatting is good and professional. This book goes to my top children’s books I have seen this year, it stands out with his originality and richness. I strongly recommend it!

What If We Ate Like That?

A very nice joyful book This book tells us how would it be if people ate like some animals – a frog or a spider for example. Kids get to see the characters in pretty silly and funny situations. At the same time, they can learn about some animal behaviors. The text is very minimalistic and simple, formatted in big letters. So it is nice for beginning readers. The illustrations are cartoony, with plain colors, very clear and bright. They are quite fun and will amuse young kids. This is a very simple and funny book any kid would enjoy and laugh with.

Never Ask A Dragon

I was very pleased with this book. A boy invites a dragon for a meal and finds out that dragons are not very nice. The story and the characters in this book are a lot of fun. The dragon keeps doing a bunch of naughty things and the boy tries to fix everything. In the end, the boy learns it is not a good idea to invite a dragon to his house.
This book teaches in a smart and funny way what is naughty behavior that a child should avoid having. It is written in a very clear, simple and cool way that is entertaining.
The illustrations are very good for this text. The style is very simple, almost geometrical, with plain colors, with good compositions and professionally done. Nevermind its simplicity the pictures still convey a lot of personality to the characters and humor.
At the end of the story, there are nice games for kids to play with some learning value.
My 6-year-old boy liked this book very much and asked me to read it multiple times. He liked the games a lot as well.
I think 3 to 6-year-old kids will enjoy this book very much.

The Legend of St George and the Dragon – Mark Watson

Link to this book HERE

I was very pleased to find this book. I love medieval knights and legends and I was not disappointed with this book. The story tells how St George went to fight a mighty dragon. After he loses the first battle he gets very injured and unable to fight back again. When he recovers he melts his armor and weapons and creates an iron box. He puts his fears inside and is able to face the dragon again. The story is in rhyme, it is entertaining and well written. There are some very nice iconic moments. The pictures have an interesting style. A mix of middle age iconography, symbolism, expressionism and children’s illustration. I quite liked it. Original and well-executed. Can be appealing for both children and adults. The formating and compositions were very good. A very beautiful balanced book. I strongly recommend this book for kids and just anyone who enjoys beautiful books.

Just A Servant

This story is about a boy called Marciper. He is living in the time of Jesus and has a difficult life. He is a servant and his master is cruel to him. The boy feels he is not worth people’s love. One day Marciper gets to meet Jesus in the marketplace. Jesus is open to him and treats him with love and respect. A life-changing experience for the poor boy. The text is nicely written and is good at teaching about the love of Jesus. The illustrations are a little bit naif but are able to follow the narrative and help kids visualize and engage with the story. I good book to give to a child to learn about Jesus’s love and deeds.

Bubbles and Buddy

This is a lovely book.
It is very simple, clean and clear, very nice for small children. The story is about two small kittens. They are brothers but they are very different from each other and like different things. No matter their differences we learn they can love each other very much.
The illustrations of this book are absolutely charming. I have seen many cat characters in children’s books but I gotta say these are some of my favorites. The kittens are pictured adorably, they look so charming and full personality and individuality. The illustrator did a very good job and makes us fall in love with these small cuties.
The style of the text and pictures is very fun and appropriate to teach small children that is ok to disagree, to be different from your sibling/friend/etc and still be great friends that love each other.
A very cute book, I strongly recommend.

Serafina Soars

I enjoyed this book a lot! It tells the story of a shy Owl that is growing out of her fears and trying to explore more and more of her surroundings. This book is able to combine two cool subjects – A nice story about overcoming limitations and a little travel through southern Spain. We can see some monuments, local animals, feasts and more. I think this is a very smart idea and it was very well executed. The illustrations are nice, with a traditional style that fits very well the focus of the book on tradition and nature. This is a good book to reveal the spirit of southern Spain to children all over the world. I recommend it!

Sushi: A Children’s Book

This is a children’s book that makes an introduction to what sushi is. A little boy makes the introduction and shows us his love and excitement for sushi.
The idea for this book is nice and well done. The style of the illustrations fits quite well the theme. The illustrations are very colorful, clean and well-composed. Just like sushi 🙂
I thought the illustrator did a better job drawing the food than the characters. But still, overall I quite liked the artwork.
This is a fun and beautiful book, great to help introduce sushi to any child.

Boys Can Be Strong And Emotional

This book is about a small bear wanting to prove to his dad that he is a courageous big boy. Some of the tests he has to endure are too hard for him but he shows to be a smart boy, able to be open to his dad and speak of his true fears and emotions.
This is a nice, entertaining story with a good message.
What really caught my attention were the illustrations of this book. They are very good. The illustrator did an amazing job with beautiful, original compositions and immersive, beautiful sceneries. I think the cover is ok but doesn’t really let us know how great are the illustrations inside. So you will have a very good surprise once you open it.
This is a good book for boys and to let them know it’s ok to be emotional, but also for just any kid, because it is entertaining and beautiful.
