Feed It to the Worms

by Jessica Laurel Kane (Author, Illustrator)

A wonderful book! It is a compilation of many very short, still very exciting stories – each is one page long. So you can have a quick bedtime story and still have an interesting and gratifying experience. Or you can read many at a time and enjoy a long reading with your kid – I am sure none of you will get bored with these awesome, short sweets!
The style of these stories is quite unique – Each one has a different lesson to teach, presented in a fun and entertaining way – like little fun allegories. They also have a poetic/artistic side to them – They play with a lot of ideas in a childish and creative way – question the world and reality and bring a new perspective on many subjects.
The illustrations, created by the author, are just as amazing – artistic, original, meaningful and still clean and simple for any child to enjoy.
My 6-year-old boy is completely in love with this book and so am I.
We have been reading it, every night in this last week. There is just so much content to discover and enjoy – It is a chest full of treasures! I strongly recommend it!

I couldn’t resist getting this book. It is just so iconic. How can I not read the belly button book?! Very good idea for a hit kid’s book I think.
Part of the book is silly and funny, I enjoyed the jokes and sense of humor. The other part simply explains what the belly button is. It is a nice and entertaining book with cool and clear illustrations. Fun to read with your kid.

Gem’s Gift

by Christine Conrad Cazes (Author), Kalpart (Illustrator)

What a lovely book!
The story is about a little squirrel called Gem, how he was born and his life in the forest. One day Gem gets caught in a big storm and gets lost. Thankfully a big oak tree saves him. Gem learns with surprise that he actually planted this oak tree a long time ago while he was playing in the forest. This story is full of adventure, it will be exciting and fun for your child to read it. The illustrations are nice. I like the forest ambiance and the landscape changing as the seasons pass. This book helps to reconnect with the cycles and beauty of nature. I recommend it!

The girl who was born with glue in her brain

by Jessica Laurel Kane

I am so fond of Jessica’s art! This book is so great!

The story is about a girl who suffers from unpleasant thoughts stuck in her brain since she was very little, and how she finally overcomes this problem.
The book deals with sadness but it has a humorous side I like a lot, it is very entertaining.
What stands out is how true and honest this book is. One can really feel this is coming from the author’s heart and experience.
It is impressive how good Jessica is at both writing and illustrating – she is able to create a unique, crystal clean style and really immerse the reader in her imagination.

I’d say this is more than a children’s book, it’s an authors piece of art – aesthetic, poetic and universal – a world to dive in, for both adults and children. A rare precious thing! I definitely recommend it!

Love Grows and Grows

by Shannon Forster (Author), Pear Creative (Book design), Alexandra Zgondea (Illustrator)

Wow! This is an impressive book!
It is complete in every way – It has a very powerful message of inclusion – So carefully and well written.
The main character is Flora – a little flower girl. She is adapting to her family growing and having not only a mother but also a stepmother. The story breaks boundaries and teaches love by giving an example of loving behavior within an extended family.
The illustrations are beautiful – they create a delightful floral world full of details and ornaments. Great ambiance to dive in!
And as if this wasn’t enough – The book also manages to incorporate music with wonderful lyrics.
This children’s book is a clear, sparkling jewel – polished with so much love and care.
I definitely recommend it!
